We are a long established pre-school set within the lovely rural grounds of Ospringe CP School in the market town of Faversham Kent. We have been providing good quality care and education since 1996. Our setting provides a safe, secure, caring and welcoming environment for children from the age of 2 to school age.
Statement from last Ofsted inspection: Staff are passionate and enthusiastic about their roles and respond well to individual needs of each child and reflect this in the range of activities they make available to promote children's development. The Manager regularly implements improvements that benefit children, through effective evaluation of the quality of the pre-school's practices, resulting in effective promotion of children's care welfare and learning.
We have a dedicated and highly qualified team of 6 staff who have a Keyperson role, all working towards providing interesting activities and a purposeful curriculum for your children following the EYFS curriculum guidelines.
A typical day at Teddies
Children are welcomed and settled into the pre-school by the team. We encourage discussions about the weather, the day, sign of the week, letter of the week etc. The children then participate in Show and Tell with items they have brought into pre-school.
Sessions continue with a range of activities such as construction toys, small world play, play-dough, musical instruments, sensory toys, puzzles, cooking, creative & drawing activities, floor play. We have age appropriate computer programmes & programmable toys and of course the "home corner" which is often transformed into role play scenarios!
We have Supervised snacktime where the children can choose milk or water to drink with a range of healthy fruit or vegetables (which are supplied by the parents)
Our lovely garden is split into 2 areas and children have outside supervised play on a daily basis. With items such as climbing frames, digging pit, mud kitchen, sandpit and ride on toys etc there is plenty of exciting fun to be had in the garden!
When its home time the children sit in a group for song sack/story and a going home prayer.
Our staff are always on hand to show and guide the children with their activities helping them to explore further and enhance their understanding and learning.
Activities are planned around what the children are interested in and what has sparked their interest. Keypersons link the learning to the areas included in the EYFS document so that you can be sure your child will be covering all 7 areas of learning right from the start!
