Read with Bear at Home

Communication and language forms a vital part to your children’s learning and development with this in mind we have developed a “Read with Bear at Home” book-bag, the bag will contain a bear, diary, and book chosen by your child, ideas and tips leaflet. The aim is to encourage sharing the book with your child at a “special time” once the book has been shared the child can do a simple drawing of the story and/or the parents can comment on what the child enjoyed about the book. Each key-person group will have their own “Bear & bag” so this will mean that your child will take the bag home at least once a term.

Show and Tell

Please encourage your child to look for a small item which relates to our letter of the week or a special item that the child wants to share with the rest of their key group. The Show and Tell items are to be placed in your child’s “key-person box” with your child’s blue book-bag. The key-person will discuss the items with the children when it is small group time.

Signs of the Week

Here at Teddies we like to encourage the children to use sign language as part of their knowledge and understanding of the world. This also helps with communication and language skills. Each week we have a different sign for the children to learn.
